Alison King
Alison King joined Amundsen following more than 20 years in R&D, health policy, and government affairs within pharmaceutical companies. Most notably, Alison was with Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals from 1987 through its acquisition in 2009. While at P&G, she served as the internal health policy expert and strategic advisor to brand marketing teams, Managed Markets, and senior management. She led P&G’s Medicare Modernization Act team and was credited with generating multi-million dollar savings to P&G through strategic analysis and planning. Over the course of her career at P&G, Alison navigated the company through many challenges and opportunities involving federal and state policies and healthcare programs, including Medicaid best price, Medicare Part D, VA/DoD, 340B, and SPAPs. Her recent work has included efforts to quantify impact of new performance incentives for Medicare Advantage plans and creation of a joint strategic plan with the CMS Office of External Relations to improve Medicare communication to consumers.
Alison served on the Advisory Committee to the New York EPIC (Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage) program from appointment by the NY State Assembly in 1994 to the Committee’s disbanding in 2012, and served as P&G liaison to PhRMA for many years. She is active with several community health initiatives and has served as a lecturer at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Alison holds a PhD from Cornell University, where she studied drug-nutrient interactions and public policy, and a BA in human biology from Stanford University.
